Stranded Colorwork 101: Cup Cozy with Myranda Cole
With a history nearly as old as knitting itself, distinct styles of stranded colorwork can be found in cultures around the globe. While the style and motifs vary from culture to culture, the mechanics of the technique are fundamentally the same.
In this workshop we’ll start small with a simple seasonal cup cozy designed by Jamie Lomax, the owner and designer behind Pacific Knit Co. (of Doodle Deck fame, check those out HERE!). These patterns are accessible to beginners, cute and customizable. We’ll explore charts, yarn choices, various ways to hold your yarn, and how to carry and catch floats.
This workshop is for the advanced beginner and beyond. You’ll want to be confident with the basics, and comfortable with small circumference knitting in the round.

About the Instructor:
Myranda has been knitting for as long as she can remember. Self-taught beyond the basics, she has spent decades making and fixing mistakes, and “inventing” new techniques. Colorwork has always been a favorite (which, it turns out, she did NOT invent), used to add neon zig zags to all her hats and scarves as a teen and to knit beautiful colorwork sweaters for her family as a Grown-Up(™).
