Yes, pretty much! We are closed for some holidays and a few times a year for cleaning and inventory. We occasionally close if the weather is extreme or unsafe. We update our website, Facebook, Instagram, and Google if we’re planning to be closed. You can always call the store to double-check at (207)236-7236.

Shipping & Returns

Do you ship every day?

Yes, we ship every day that the USPS is open.

What’s your return policy?

Most items are returnable for an exchange or refund within 30 days of purchase. The item should be in the same condition as when you purchased it. For example, the yarn is still in the skein, the ball band is on, with no evidence of use. Needles, hooks, and notions are not returnable.

How do I initiate a return?

For a simple return, just mail back your package with a note to request a refund. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

How do I initiate an exchange?

We want you to be happy with your shopping experience at Cashmere Goat, and we’ll work with you to get it right.

We try to have accurate photos of yarn colors on our website — we know this really matters to  our customers when you’re making online purchases for your craft. However, sometimes the yarn arrives and the color just isn’t quite right. If you’d like to make an exchange, call us (207)236-7236 or email us at info@cashmeregoatyarn.com so we can help.

Can I return needles, hooks, or notions?

Needles, hooks, and notions are not returnable. However, if something is defective, we want to know about it. Please email us at info@cashmeregoatyarn.com and we’ll determine the best course of action — refund or replacement.

Workshop and Class Policies

Are workshops refundable if I have to cancel?

Cancellations are fully refundable 72 hours prior to the workshop date.

Workshop fees are non-refundable if you cancel after 72 hours prior to the class date, or if you don’t show up.

What if there's a weather emergency?

If there is a cancellation due to weather or other emergency, you will be given as much notice as possible and a full refund will be issued.

Do I have to pre-pay for private lessons?

Yes, ALL private lessons must be prepaid in advance.

Are private lessons refundable if I have to cancel?

Cancellations for private lessons must be made 24 hours in advance and no-shows are non-refundable.

No-shows will be rescheduled at the discretion of Cashmere Goat, and habitual no-shows may be refused the option to reschedule.

Parking & Accessibility

Where do I park?

We’ve got parking right in front of our store at 21 Mechanic Street in Camden, Maine! Please only park in the spots designated for Cashmere Goat customers. If all of our Goat  spots are filled, there’s a public lot just across the street with a marked Accessibility spot.

Is Cashmere Goat accessible?

Our store is located on street level, with no steps leading up to or inside the store.

Are there restrooms available?

Our restroom is for customers only — we want you to be comfortable while you shop! Customers with mobility aids might find our restroom difficult to navigate — there are public restrooms (with accessible stalls) at the public landing.

Visiting Camden

What’s not to be missed?

Camden’s a charming village with locally-owned shops and restaurants. Take a walk along Camden Harbor at the public landing to check out the boats and the Megunticook River waterfall.

While down by the harbor, you’ll see offers of kayak tours and day sails. It’s a lovely way to see the rugged beauty of the Maine coast.

Harbor Park, in front of Camden Public Library, offers a beautiful view that’s definitely not to be missed! Camden Public Library also offers free WiFi.

Where’s the best lobster roll?

We’ve got a few favorite spots!

If you’d like a sit-down meal with a view of Camden Harbor, the Waterfront restaurant on Bayview Street is about a 5-minute walk from the Goat, and is open for lunch daily. Peter Ott’s is another Camden mainstay, right on the Camden Harbor landing — check their website for hours.

We also recommend Graffam’s Seafood Market in Rockport. You can eat inside, but why not take your lunch for a picnic in Rockport Harbor Park? Graffam's is open daily — 10:30-4pm for the food counter.

Where can I get ice cream?

Our favorite ice cream is conveniently located right next door to the Goat, on the bridge over the Megunticook River! Grab a treat at River Ducks — they have hard ice cream (with awesome Maine-themed flavors) and soft serve (the very best, in our opinion!), plus shakes and specialty sundaes. It’s CASH ONLY. Check their Facebook page for hours, as they change through the summer season.
