Mindful Stitching with Kristen TenDyke
Begin your weekend by replenishing yourself — sinking in and being fully present with the sense experience of your craft.
During this hour before the store opens for business, Kristen TenDyke will guide a peaceful space for cultivating body awareness and befriending your current simple project by creating it slowly.
What are the benefits?
-
Bringing mindfulness to the senses by creating something slowly can synchronize the mind and body together and down-regulate the nervous system of your body, cultivating calmness and relief from the pressures of daily and social life.
-
Working with your project in this way is a practice to anchor your body and mind together in the present moment, with your trusted craft project, whenever you’re in need of emotional strength and support.
What to bring:
-
Something you’ve started that is worked in a basic stitch pattern that you won’t need to think about, count or refer to a pattern while you do it.
-
Dress comfortably.
-
A notebook and writing utensil (optional, but recommended for holding intrusive thoughts and/or recording insights)
Each cycle is 4 weeks long, beginning on or around the new moon. Sign up for the month, or sign up for one session — see dates below.
Pre-registration is required by Friday at 3pm to save your spot.
Class size is limited.
Roll-over days are available with adequate notice.
If there is a cancellation due to weather or other emergency, you will be given as much notice as possible and the session will be rolled over to the following month.
Sessions will be held from 8:30-9:30 Saturday mornings at The Goat - 21 Mechanic Street in downtown Camden.
