Rowan Heirloom Sampler Blanket Kit
"My Heirloom Sampler Blanket KAL has been
inspired by traditional cross stitch patterns that
celebrate the beauty of nature, folklore, family
& home. Motifs that blend creativity with
nostalgia to evoke a classic, timeless aesthetic.
Over the years this blanket will become a
cherished and treasured keepsake, carrying a
connection to its crafter and family." - Martin Storey
This Knit Along is a celebration of traditional stitching and thoughtful making. Worked in Rowan Felted Tweed, a yarn renowned for its character and depth of colour, the blanket brings together a series of beautiful heritage-inspired motifs. It is designed to be knitted
in one piece from the bottom up, with a border picked up and worked around the edges once the blanket is complete.
The pattern will be released over eight weeks and includes seven stranded colourwork charts followed by a final release focusing on the border and finishing. The instructions are written for knitting flat in knit and purl rows. If you prefer to knit in the round, an extra
tutorial demonstrating how to add a steek will be provided, allowing you to choose the approach that suits you best.
At its heart, this project is about slowing down, enjoying the process, and creating something meaningful - a blanket that reflects time, care, and craft, and that can truly become a family heirloom.
