Fingering yarn is usually a finer, softer alternative to sport & DK yarns while still being more beginner-friendly than lace yarn.

Sock yarn is a type of fingering yarn used for - you guessed it! - socks, but it usually has a bit of nylon for extra strength to handle the constant use. 100% cashmere fingering yarn is better suited for bed socks that don’t go through as much daily wear and tear.

Fingering-weight cashmere yarn is typically knitted or crocheted on 2.25–3.25mm (US 1–3) needles - find them and more in our collection of knitting needles! 

However, make sure you check needle recommendations on your chosen pattern and always check your gauge to be sure you have the correct size needles.
