Wintertime Sweater Knitting and a bit of a reset.

Wintertime Sweater Knitting and a bit of a reset.

It is prime knitting season here in Maine and I'm taking full advantage. I'm about to start the second sleeve of my Ruska sweater and it's exciting to think I will be wearing it soon! There was some experimenting with changing needles to adjust the size a bit as I was knitting. The fit so far is good. This was an intriguing idea for adjusting to my personal shape because there were no changes to the pattern and I didn't need to figure that math out. I am using Berroco’s Lanas yarn, a lovely 100% wool in worsted weight that I have been wanting to knit with since I first brought it in to the store. I am enjoying it thoroughly! I love this type of wool for it’s structure and sturdiness, the colors are also on point, and for me this is perfect sweater yarn.

It is also time for us to shut down for a few days and do a bit of cleaning and reorganizing. We will be closed January 23-25, to reorganize our back rooms and move around some yarn. Our online store will remain open and we will still be offering curbside pick up (in case of a yarn or needle emergency!). We will also be getting rid of some yarns and putting them on sale during our clean out. So if you like a bargain it will be a great time to keep an eye on our online clearance section
