Planning a visit to The Goat? Here's the scoop on our local favorites!

River Ducks Ice Cream
Conveniently located next to The Goat, River Ducks has our very favorite soft serve ice cream (even for those who don't usually enjoy soft serve!) as well as a great menu of hard serve flavors too. Enjoy your cone on the scenic footbridge of flowers! Some of our favorites: Vanilla soft serve with rainbow sprinkles (above!), Camden Cappuccino Crunch, lemon milkshake (lemon sorbet + vanilla soft serve), and a chocolate/vanilla twist! It's cash only.

Camden Harbor
Stroll down to Camden Harbor with your ice cream and walk along Camden's bustling waterfront. Take in the Megunticook River falls — the very same river that flows next to The Goat — and admire the pleasure boats, lobster boats, and schooners. Fancy a few hours on a sailboat or kayak? Book your trip right at the dock!

Graffam Bros. Seafood
Graffam's is located in Rockport village, just one town south of Camden. Grab a lobster roll to-go and take it down to Rockport Harbor — a charming spot that's a bit quieter than Camden Harbor, with plenty of benches in the sun and a shaded picnic area.

Take in the view!
Beech Hill
Located in Rockport, Beech Hill (pictured above) is a preserve managed by the Coastal Mountains Land Trust. Access to the top is on a wide, gravel-surfaced trail that's .6 miles each way. It's a gentle ascent with a sod-roofed stone hut on top of the hill — great for flying kites if the wind's right!

Mount Battie
Overlooking Camden village, Mount Battie is part of the Camden Hills State Park. There's a stone tower on top that you can see from downtown. If you're up for a steep and rocky hike, you can access the trailhead from Megunticook Street. You can also pay to drive up a paved road, which is a great option too!

Ideas for Rainy Days

Our local libraries are awesome! Camden and Rockport both have beautiful small-town libraries with great programming for adults and kids! Whether you need fast WiFi, cool air conditioning, books and magazines, or stories and activities to entertain your little ones, the libraries in Camden and Rockport are worth a visit.

The Farnsworth Art Museum’s collection of approximately 15,000 works focuses on American art from the 18th century to the present, in all media, with a special emphasis on artists with deep connections to Maine. Visit their website for a list of current exhibits and special events!

We hope to see you soon at The Goat!
