Goats Recommend... Favorite Colorwork Sock Patterns.

As we wrap up Socktober 2024, we want to thank our participants for recommending so many of their favorite sock patterns. What can we say? We’re inspired and ready to cast on for a new pair — once we finish up our current pair, that is.

In case you missed it, we’ve taken YOUR great pattern recommendations and published a series of blog posts to share them — Vanilla Top-Down Socks, Vanilla Toe-Up Socks, Textured Socks, and now, for our final installment of this Socktober Favorite Sock series, we present Colorwork Socks!

Colorwork socks can be a great way to keep your feet cozy and stylish — and maybe get a little wild with your color choices and designs!

Each of the posts has a link to the accompanying Ravelry Bundle! But to make it easy for you, you can find them here: Vanilla Top-Down Bundle, Vanilla Toe-Up Bundle, Textured Socks Bundle, and Colorwork Socks Bundle.

Colorwork Highlights

  • Stone Knits: This designer is a colorwork sock superstar and a favorite of several of our Goats! Many of the motifs are seasonal and so fun. Local Goat Amelia  just finished up her first Mountain Pine Sock, a classic and cozy alpine vibe, and has started sock #2! Remote Goat Stephanie recommended the Eggs for Easter socks — very cute, with a surprise at the toe!

  • Summer Lee: Sock maven Summer Lee has some lovely sock designs for the colorwork sock-lover. For fans of the BBC’s All Creatures Great and Small, try the Darrowby Set — inspired by knits from the show! Find ALL of Summer’s colorwork patterns here. One Goat recommended the Little Dots pattern because it’s an “easy pattern and every color combination looks great.” (We’ve got copies of Summer’s indispensable sock book here!)

  • Rhubarb and Custard Socks by Zanete Knits: Several of us were admiring the tidy pattern and elegant details of this all-over colorwork sock pattern, knit toe-up. Note the honeycomb brioche heelflap and the construction of the bottom heel.

Let’s keep those socks coming, shall we?

Even though Socktober’s wrapping up, why stop now? With all this sockspiration with fabulous patterns, let’s keep that momentum going.

Thanks to all of you who participated in this year’s Socktober, our biggest group of sock-makers yet! And a special thanks to all of you who recommended your favorite patterns.
