Color Theory / Color Play with Iris Eichenlaub
Have you ever been stumped or overwhelmed when choosing colors for a knitting project? Your Goat Staffers LOVE to help with color choices — and we want to empower you to feel more confident.
In this two-hour workshop, Iris Eichenlaub will present the basics of color theory as she guides you to understand color through playful exploration. You’ll learn how to read and utilize a color wheel, including how to include neutrals in your color selections.
Our relationship with color is deeply personal, so we’ll also explore color through brief prompts and experiential activities. Be prepared to go on some color treasure hunts in the store as you develop your own color intuition.

About the Instructor:
Iris Eichenlaub was named for the Greek goddess of the rainbow and has loved rainbows and bold colors all her life. She attended Greenfield Community College (MA) and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for printmaking, and loved the precision and satisfaction of the required color theory classes. One of Iris’s favorite things about working at The Goat is when people want assistance picking out colors — it’s a fun and absolutely joyful game to play together.
