Knitting with Whimsy: The Gnomes of Grimblewood!
In the depths of Grimblewood forest, tucked away under rustling pine and spruce trees, you’ll find the Grimblewood gnomes: an eclectic and kindly bunch, ready to welcome anyone who rambles their way.
Gnomes are a surprisingly popular knitting sensation. What is it about gnomes and why should you incorporate a little whimsy into your hobby?
Sarah Schira, author of the upcoming book “The Gnomes of Grimblewood: Enchanting friends full of magic and mischief”, will talk about the unexpected journey gnomes have taken her on, introduce the 8 gnomes in the book, and discuss how adults can benefit from play.
Register now to explore Grimblewood and play along with Sarah and her world of gnomes at this Fiberside Chat!
BIO:
“Once upon a time, there was a knitter who loved gnomes. She was always cold and couldn’t understand why she was knitting and knitting (and knitting) gnomes rather than cardigans. All she knew was that as she stitched on the beard and the gnome popped into life, complete with a personality and a life history, she would instantly wonder about doing it again.”
Sarah Schira is a knitting designer who loves gnomes. A lot. To her delight, thousands of knitters have joined her. #nevernotgnoming
When Sarah’s not knitting gnomes, she’s working on knitting accessories for everyday adventures, filming knitting tutorials for her YouTube channel, and getting outside to think wild thoughts under the sky.
Sarah lives in Manitoba, Canada, with her husband.
